Ezo Seafoods to reopen as a seafood mini market
Ezo Seafoods announces that it will henceforth cease Oyster Bar operations in Niseko and reopen as "EZO SEAFOODS FRESH" -- a 'one stop' seafood mini market that will offer a range of high quality fresh seafood dishes for guests' enjoyment in their holiday lodgings.
After 13 years, it wasn't an easy decision for us to close the beloved Oyster Bar. The pandemic forced us to rethink our capabilities to continue to run Ezo Seafoods as a busy full-service restaurant. We considered our resources and explored what F&B services were lacking in Niseko; and the idea of a small but high-quality seafood takeout operation began to take shape.
Our vision for EZO FRESH is to offer great food experiences in Niseko without the hassle of making reservations months in advance. We want to sync with our customers who like to socialize and entertain in the comfort of their own lodgings. We want to offer seafood products for people who like to cook at home.
A new website will be published closer to the season with more information about EZO FRESH but we envisage offering sashimi and sushi platters, cooked seafood and vegetable dishes, and seafood products such as sides of salmon, fresh scallops and, of course, trays of oysters. Sushi will play a key role in EZO FRESH and we look forward to offering delicious "Edomae" style sushi that reflects Hokkaido's unique seafoods. To our many loyal Oyster Bar customers, it has been a privilege to host you and be a part of your holiday traditions year after year. Thank you for your amazing support. We will all miss the atmosphere and buzz of the Oyster Bar, but look forward to welcoming you back to Niseko and continuing to serve you and your families and friends.
Our commitment and passion to offering guests to Niseko the best "market fresh" Hokkaido seafood remains exactly the same. James Gallagher Keiko Takaoka
